Two nabbed for drugs, gun

Police arrested two men for various charges last weekend.

Officers of the Mitchell’s Plain crime prevention unit were busy with crime prevention duties on Sunday 7 May at 16:30 when they received information about drug trading at a house in Invader Close, Rocklands.

When police searched the house, they found 21 stoppe dagga, 20 packets tik, 12 mandrax tablets and three half mandrax tablets.

A 44-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs. He has appeared in court on the charges.

In an unrelated matter, officers of the crime prevention unit were busy with duties in Ionian Road, Rocklands on Saturday 6 May at 16:20 when they stopped and searched a man.

They found an imitation firearm in his possession and the 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of an imitation ­firearm.
