Firefighters arriving at the scene, in the 300 block of NW Fairchild Street, around 7:45 a.m. said they could see smoke and flames coming from the south side of the home. They put the fire and managed to keep it from spreading to other structures.

The preliminary investigation indicates the the blaze was intentionally set. Investigators say it started on the south side of the home and estimated the damages at $5,000.
