Resident shoots 2 home invasion suspects, killing 1, police say

SALT LAKE CITY — A resident shot two men — one was killed and one was seriously injured — after police say the men broke into the resident’s apartment early Thursday.

About 3:15 a.m. two men entered an apartment at Park Place at City Center, 731 S. 300 East. Information about how the men got into the apartment was not immediately released.

Three adults were inside the apartment at the time, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Brandon Shearer. Once inside, there was some sort of confrontation and one of the adults fired multiple rounds at the home invasion suspects.

One of the suspects died inside the apartment. The other man was shot multiple times before running out, Shearer said.

More details released on Oklahoma home invasion that left three teen suspects dead

WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. – We’re learning more about the home invasion in Broken Arrow that left three teen suspects dead.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Monday, authorities say three teenagers dressed in black and wearing masks and gloves broke in to a Broken Arrow home through a back door.

However, they did not know that a young man was home at the time.

Officials say the homeowner’s 23-year-old son killed all three teens with an AR-15 before barricading himself inside his bedroom.

One of the alleged suspects was found to have a knife, while another was carrying brass knuckles.

The intruders were identified as 19-year-old Maxwell Cook, 17-year-old Jacob Redfern and 16-year-old Jaykob Woodriff.

“Preliminary investigation looks like it’s self-defense,” said Wagoner County Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Mahoney, cautioning the investigation was continuing into the midday home invasion.

Police crime prevention operations continued over the past week and a total of 1 239 suspects were arrested for various crimes ranging from murder, robbery, possession of unlincensed firearms, assault and other serious crimes as well as crimes detected as a result of police action (266). Police also recovered 30 firearms and 146 rounds of ammunition. Dangerous (130) weapons including knives, pangas and other sharp objects. Close to 3000 searches were also conducted on vehicles for firearms, dangerous weapons, drugs and suspected stolen stock. This resulted on 13 suspected stolen motor vehicles being seized.

The police’s fight against the proliferation of drugs in the province continued and yielded good results.

Suspects ID’d in Good Samaritan assault at QT in Greenville, police say

GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Police have identified two people they say were involved in an assault at the QuikTrip on Woodruff Road at Verdae Boulevard.

Officers are looking for 25-year-old Rashon Javarous Irby and 26-year-old Andrekus Davarous Irby who are both facing charges of third degree Assault and Battery by Mob. Rashon Irby is also facing a Larceny charge.

Greenville Police say the two repeatedly punched and kicked the victim after Rashon Irby knocked him to the floor.

Help find suspects in Good Samaritan assault at QT in Greenville

GREENVILLE Co., SC (WSPA) – Police need your help finding 2 male suspects and 3 female witnesses in an assault at QT at Woodruff Rd. at Verdae.

They say two men assaulted the victim on 2/25 early Saturday morning.

The victim tried to step between the man wearing the blue baseball hat and the woman pictured with the phone in her hand, according to police.

They say she was trying to call police on the man for another assault he allegedly committed prior to the incident at QT.

The victim was being a “Good Samaritan” and trying to stop the man from assaulting the woman when he and another man starting hitting the victim.

Police are trying to identify the men as subjects in the assault and battery.

They say they are trying to identify the woman as witnesses to the crime and to identify the men.

Home invasion victim speaks out about shooting suspects

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35)  – A son says he did what he had to do to protect his mother from being killed during a home invasion.

“He hit my momma in the face.” Geno Davis said he had to do something after deputies say, 2 men broke into his home and held a gun to his mother’s head.

“He was standing right here with a gun at my momma like that. So I came around the corner and automatically shot him.”

Deputies say Geno, who has a concealed weapons permit, fired in self defense. “When I came out he was reaching, so I didn’t give him a chance to pull his gun either so I shot him and that’s when he ran out the door and he tried to get back up. I was still in fear for my life, so I shot him again.”
